Welcome to Only the One - a matchmaking platform dedicated to serious, long-term relationships. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Only the One application and services. By creating an account, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. About Only the One

Only the One is a free matchmaking platform that connects compatible singles seeking committed relationships. It combines curated daily matches with an optional AI Love Coach subscription. The matchmaking service is free, without paywalls or artificial limits on visibility. The Love Coach is an optional paid subscription offering personalised AI coaching throughout your dating journey.

2. Eligibility

You must be 18 years of age or older to create an account. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement. Only the One reserves the right to request age verification and to suspend accounts where eligibility cannot be confirmed.

3. Account & Profile

• You agree to provide truthful, accurate, and up-to-date information in your profile
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
• Only your first name and a single profile photo are visible to other users - all other data is private
• You may not create multiple accounts or share your account with another person
• Profiles must represent a real individual; fictitious, business, or organisational accounts are not permitted

4. Free Matchmaking

The matchmaking service is entirely free. There are no paid tiers, boosts, super-swipes, or paywalls on the core matching experience. Specifically:

• You define your profile properties and compatibility preferences across a range of criteria
• Each day, the algorithm presents up to 5 curated profiles with a mutual compatibility score of at least 75%
• You may send one match request per day; a match is formed only when both users request each other in the same 24-hour window
• You may have one active match at a time; while matched, your profile is not shown to other users
• Matched users may chat privately; an AI moderator supports the conversation and flags violations of these Terms
• You may pause, unmatch, or block at any time from within the app

5. Love Coach Subscription

The Love Coach is a paid subscription that provides access to an AI coach supporting singles through every stage of their journey - from building self-confidence to navigating dates and early relationships.

Prices shown are VAT-inclusive where applicable. VAT is applied at the rate of your country of residence.

5.1 Billing & Payment

• Subscriptions are billed automatically at the start of each billing period (monthly or annually)
• Payment is processed by Apple App Store, Google Play, or Stripe depending on where you subscribe
• We never store your payment card details

5.2 Free Trial

• The 7-day free trial applies to the monthly plan only and requires a valid payment method
• If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be charged 12.99€ for the first month
• You may cancel the trial at any time before it ends at no charge
• The free trial is available once per user; creating a new account to claim a further trial is not permitted

5.3 Cancellation

• You may cancel your subscription at any time via the App Store, Google Play, or your account settings
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access until then
• No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a billing period, except where required by law

5.4 What the Love Coach Does Not Do

The Love Coach is an AI assistant, not a licensed therapist, counsellor, or medical professional. It does not provide clinical mental health support, legal advice, or medical advice. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or require professional support, please contact a qualified professional.

6. Code of Conduct

Only the One is a respectful, safe space. By using the platform, you agree to the following:

• No ghosting - deliberately ignoring a match without any communication is a violation of community standards
• No hate speech - racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, or any form of discriminatory language is prohibited
• No harassment or threats - explicit or implied, including via messages or profile content
• No impersonation or fraud - profiles must represent the real person creating the account
• No explicit or inappropriate content - do not share, request, or display sexually explicit material
• No scam attempts - soliciting money, personal financial information, or redirecting users to external platforms for commercial purposes is prohibited
• No abuse of any kind - emotional, verbal, or sexual abuse will result in immediate action

7. Enforcement

Violations of the Code of Conduct are handled as follows:

• Standard violations: 3 warnings, then temporary ban, then permanent ban
• Severe violations (threats, abuse, criminal behaviour): immediate permanent ban with no prior warning
• Legal escalation: in cases involving serious threats, criminal activity, or child safety concerns, Only the One reserves the right and may be legally obligated to contact relevant authorities and share pertinent information with them

To report a violation, use the in-app reporting tool or contact contact@only-the-one.com.

8. Child Safety (CSAE Policy)

Only the One maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). Any user found to violate this policy will be permanently banned and reported to the relevant authorities without exception. To report suspicious behaviour, contact csae@only-the-one.com.

9. Privacy

Your use of Only the One is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

10. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the Only the One platform, design, and content are owned by Only the One or its licensors. You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app in accordance with these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the platform.

11. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

Only the One provides the platform "as is". We do not guarantee successful matches or relationships. We are not liable for the actions of other users or for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

12. Termination

• You may delete your account at any time from within the app; your data is permanently deleted within 30 days
• Only the One reserves the right to suspend or permanently ban any account that violates these Terms, with or without prior notice depending on the severity of the violation

13. Modifications

Only the One may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. Continued use of the platform following notice of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have under the laws of your country of residence.
